What is oud?

Oud is the fragrant resin-rich material found in agarwood, primarily associated with trees from the Aquilaria and Gyrinops genera. It is used in incense and perfumery.

What is the difference between oud oil and oud chips?

Oud oil is worn as fragrance, while oud chips are heated to release their aroma into a space.

What is bakhoor?

Bakhoor is an aromatic incense preparation, often based on fragranced wood or wood shavings, designed to release fragrance when heated.

Do I need charcoal to burn bakhoor?

Some bakhoor can be used with suitable charcoal, while certain electric incense heaters can also be used. Follow the instructions appropriate to your product and burner.

How much oud should I heat?

Begin with a small piece. You can always add more.

Can oud chips vary in appearance?

Yes. Natural wood may vary in colour, shape, grain, visible resin and density.

Why does my oud smell different at different temperatures?

Heat affects how aromatic compounds are released. Charcoal and lower-temperature electric heaters can therefore reveal different aspects of the same material.

How do I apply oud oil?

Use a small amount on suitable pulse points and allow it to develop naturally.

Are your perfumes for men or women?

Unless a product page states otherwise, fragrance can be chosen according to scent preference rather than gender.

How should I store fragrance?

Keep fragrance securely closed and away from unnecessary heat and direct sunlight.

How should I store oud chips?

Keep them dry, clean and securely contained away from strong external odours.

Can I return a lighter after filling it?

Contact us before attempting to return any lighter that has been filled. Do not post a lighter containing or suspected of containing fuel or gas. Royal Mail does not accept fuelled or used butane/petrol lighters in the post.
